How long should I burn my 100% Natural Soy Candle? You may not know that candles made from 100% soy wax has a 'memory burn' and should be allowed to achieve a full melt pool on its very first burn. If your candle is extinguished prior to allowing a full melt pool being achieved, all subsequent melt pool will not go past the first one. To create a full melt pool, burn the candle for a minimum of one hour for every inch of its diameter. All future burns should follow the first one's path and melt fully to the sides of the container. Recommended burn time is 3-4 hours. Be sure to trim wick to 1/4" before each light. This will allow candle to burn evenly to prevent tunneling. Remember always follow warning label on the bottom of your candle. Why 100% Natural Soy? Because they are made only from soybean-based vegetable oils. Our candles are made with certified Kosher. On the other hand, paraffin candles are made from petroleum base oil, which is bad for humans, pet and the environment. Our 100% Natural Soy Candles burns 50 percent longer, 20 degrees cooler and produces 90 percent black soot than paraffin wax. How is Soy Wax made? Soy wax is vegetable wax derived from the oil of soybeans and is primarily used in candles. After they are harvested, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. It is from these flakes that the oil is extracted to then be hydrogenated. Hydrogenating oil is the process of converting some of its fatty acids from unsaturated to saturated, which raises the melting point of the oil to where it is a solid at room temperature. The end result is soy wax! Why is there wet oil on top of my Soy Candle? Since Soy wax has a lower melting point than traditional paraffin wax, it can release excess essential fragrance oils which it cannot hold. This is usually due to extreme temperature changes due shipping (i.e going from hot trucks to air conditioned environment or going from cold truck in the winter to heated stores). It can also be caused by the scent 'sweating' out of the soy candles. That means that scented soy candle jars are more likely to sweat when warmed during shipping. You can leave it or use a tissue paper to wipe it out. No worries; this is just the fragrance coming to the surface. The sweat coming to the surface does not effect the burn quality and generally the sweat drops will not show up again after the first burn. Why do my 100% Natural Soy Candle look frosty? Are they drying out? No your soy candles never dry out. Frosting is a natural characteristic that's unique to per soy candles. It's part of the soy experience! Often times the frosting of soy candle is called the "bloom," and it's not a flaw. Many customers actually become concerned if there is no frosting on their soy candles. It is a way that you can always tell if your candle is really made with pure, All Natural Soy Wax. What causes the white marks on my Soy Candles? Occasionally, white marks may appear on soy candles due to the nature of soy wax. The tiny white looking crystal on the top and the sides of the jar are called frosting and are very similar to the frosted look on chocolate. This is a natural characteristic of soy wax and should not be treated as a flaw. It does not affect the quality of burn to the candle. How can I track my order? You will receive an email with the tracking information once your order has shipped. If you do not receive it for some reason, let us know at and we will send you a new email. What Shipping Method do you use? We mostly use USPS Priority Mail or Flat Rate! Can the Candle jar be repurposed? Yes, when 1/4" of wax remains in the container discontinue use of the candle. Carefully dump wax out of container. Soap and warm water can be used to remove the wax residue from candle container.

  • Cozy Cove Candles | Our Story

Our Story Cozy Cove Candles started in 2015. We first started out doing lots of research and testing with all the different waxes, scents, wicks that are used, and the chemistry of candle making and more. As we wanted to keep our products all natural. So, we converted a room off of our garage into a peaceful place for us to begin begin our journey. That was where all the testing began. We had spent many long nights testing and making lots of different products. With all the testing we were able to achieve a very well balanced product that produces an alluring aroma and has a long smooth burn. We have worked very hard to get to this point and will continue to work hard to provide our customers with the quality of products that they deserve. All our products are hand-poured in small batches to insure a hand-made quality product. All of our products are Phthalate Free. We carry a wide variety of different size products and fragrances too choose from. We can do customized orders in a timely manner for any of your needs that include weddings, baby showers, parties, and more. Soy wax burns slower and burns 20’ cooler than paraffin, resulting in a longer more consistently burning candle. Most soy candle companies will use a blend of paraffin and soy; then they call it a “Soy Candle.” This blend enables the wax to burn at a higher temperature and enhances the scent-throw compared to 100% soy wax. However, for our customers heath and environmental reasons Cozy Cove Candles did not want to use any paraffin wax which is “Petroleum Based” in our products. We are excited to be able to provide you with a quality, healthy alternative to the unhealthy fast burning run of the mill candle. Email us at
